COTIGNAC

With its famous rock, its tourist attraction and its artistic vocation, this village with striking contrasts charms with pleasure. At the bottom of a valley blocked by the immense cliff from which a waterfall falls, it occupies an important place among the sites of the Haut Var.

Cotignac owes its economic importance to its production of olive oil, and historically to a wish from Anne of Austria and to the pilgrimage made by Louis XIV (again each year pilgrimages on August 15 and September 8), in 1660 to the chapel of Notre Dame de Grâces, located on Mont Verdaille, not far from the ramparts of this small town.
